With the basic understanding of SEO and keywords, it is time to start the implementation phase.

SEO is divided into smaller categories, with the most important ones being: On-page SEO, Off-page SEO, Technical SEO, and Local SEO. We will have had a look at each one of these by the time we come to an end of this series. Stay tuned!

What is On-page SEO?

This is the practice of optimizing individual web pages to improve their search engine ranking and drive more relevant traffic. It involves improving the content within your website or page, following SEO best practices.

This type of optimization is important for gaining visibility on search engine results pages (SERPs) and is crucial for engaging users effectively.

By enhancing various elements of a page(titles, images, videos), on-page SEO ensures that the content meets user expectations and aligns with search engine standards.

There are different aspects of On-page SEO:

  1. The first aspect of on-page SEO involves optimizing title tags. The title tag, often a searcher’s first encounter with your content, should contain the primary keyword and be compelling within the first 60 characters. In our next article, we will look at how to write a title tag that ranks on search engines.
  2. Meta descriptions, which are the second aspect, provide a summary that encourages users to click. Limiting meta descriptions to 150-160 characters with a strategic keyword or two helps attract attention without overwhelming the reader.
  3. The third aspect of on-page SEo is Header tags. There are different types of Header tags or H tags (H1, H2, H3, etc.). They play a key role by organizing the content, making it easy to read and scan.

Using headers effectively structures your content, with the H1 tag for the main title and H2 and H3 for sections and subsections. Including keywords in these headers can also improve relevance without overloading the content.

What to take from this

On-page SEO focuses on optimizing various elements within a page to make it search engine-friendly and improve user experience. By implementing keyword research, effective titles and meta descriptions, and organized headers, you lay a strong foundation for better visibility and engagement.
